A couple of apparatus updates from the last time I reported. Some of these might be repeats - oh well. If anyone has anything to add, please do.

Many thanks,

Bruce

BERKS COUNTY

WALNUTTOWN I see Ferrara is finally building the second of the two units on order for them, a Intruder II, 9000lb front mounted winch, 10KW Harrison hydraulic generator, 6000 watt Will-Burt light tower, oil dry hopper, with a 4-bottle cascade, non walk-in straight rescue.

CITY OF READING The first KME Predator engine, Engine 13 was placed into service on 2/6, and Engine 9 was placed into service on 2/7. Engine 1 was to be delivered on 2/11, Engine 11 on 2/18, and finally Engine 3 on 2/25. The former reserve rescue - the 1977 PemFab/Hamerly, was donated to the Wilkes-Barre FD to be used as a air/light unit.

FLEETWOOD Their 2008 Ford F550/Reading squad is now in service. It is all white. Not sure if it is going to get a green stripe like the rest of the apparatus. I presume it will in time.

LEESPORT They have speced a new rescue, will be an additional apparatus to what they have.

STONERSVILLE They have ordered a crew cab F-350 that will be here in 4-6 weeks and then we have been awarded the bid for installing all of their lighting and equipment on it to TRM-Emergency Vehicle Equipment.

The tanker is finally here.

2004 Osco Tanker on a Refurbed 1999 Kenworth Chassis. Truck came from the Volente Vol. Fire Dept in Volente Texas.

3,100 gallons with a 1000GPM Darley pump with (2) 5" intakes, (2) 5" direct fills, (2) 2.5" direct fills. A pic is located earlier in this thread somewhere, I will post a new one once we get it lettered and ready to roll.

Been a while. Pennsburg (Montco 65) is getting a 2008 Sutphen Rescue Pumper. It is similar to our 2006 Sutphen (E65) with a few exceptions. It has 1000 gallon water tank, foam system, hydraulic ladder rack, XRT PTO hydraulic pump for Hurst Tools. Preconnected bumper 1-1/2" and a pre-connected combi tool in the bumper. Full heigh and depth compartments. It may be out at the expo in Harrisburg on display for Sutphen but not lettered or shelved yet.

We also replaced our Chief's vehicle with a 2004 Ford Expedition. It has the same command rack in the rear but has LED lighting and is white with a new design. Hope to have pics up on our site www.pennsburgfireco.com soon.

I am hearing through the grapevine that Virginville has chosen 4-Guys to build there new rescue truck. Can anybody confirm this and if so, what are they ordering ?

Many thanks,

Bruce
