Tri-County Fire Muster 2007/09/14 02:53 Karma: 0
Now that the Muster is over for another year, I was wondering about a few things:

1. Any ideas or suggestions for improving it in the future?

2. For those who never attended (or haven't attended recently), is there a particular reason why? (i.e. not enough interest from the company members, no time, bad experience previously, etc.)

3. How many members actually knew about the event? (i.e. the invitation never got circulated around your company for whatever reason, you never saw a article in the paper, it was never posted on this site, etc.)

4. Does the awarding of the Zone 5 & 6 and SE Berks trophies affect annual attendance? (They get awarded at the Muster only on years where no company is hosting a parade)

5. Are there any different team activities you'd like to see?

Just curious.....I'm always looking to make the Muster bigger 'n' better....make it more fun for everybody.
Your comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The big thing I like about the muster is all of the activites, the truck races, the drill team games, the dog contest, the vendors.

The big thing this year was it ran too long. I don't know why but I think it was way to long. I don't know if the drill team games need to start sooner or what. Also, some more vendors would be cool as well.

I did enjoy the day and I can't wait untill I can see what next year has instore.

Kyle

PS, I had the dog who won the wanabe dalmation contest.

I enjoyed the muster very much. I agree with it running too long though. If you have the judges available why not run the volleyball and bowling pin knockdown at the same time and then run the water rocket and driving course at the same time. Theoretically this should cut the event run time in half and then I would not have to wait til 5 or 6 to see if I won any money.
By the way, I did enjoy seeing friends and talking to all of you about the new Brush 1. A big thanks to Randy from 17 for reminding me of the muster and asking about bringing the Hummer down.

The 2008 Tri-County Fire Muster will be held Sunday, September 7th at the Liberty Fire Company Engine Room in New Berlinville.

Interested companies, private owners, vendors, etc. can go to www.libertyfire17.org/muster.html to download a pdf version of the invitation (which must be mailed), complete the online registration form. Or you can call 610-369-3777 (station # with answering machine) or 484-239-2391 (my cell phone) to resigter. Heck, you can even e-mail me at libertyfire17@dejazzd.com.

INDIVIDUAL SNAIL-MAIL INVITATIONS ARE NO LONGER BEING SENT.
I attempted to send the invitation to any and all company websites - some came back undeliverable, some companies don't have e-mail contact information, and some companies don't have a site.

Drill team events and driver competitions have not changed.

We are looking to expand our privately-owned apparatus display. Anybody who knows a private owner please pass this information on to them.

We are also looking to expand our flea market/vendor display. Any businesses wishing to set up a display can contact me via e-mail or telephone. Businesses who advertise in the Muster Booklet may display for free. In the past this has been a "Firematic" flea market, however anybody with something to sell (within reason) may do so.

Hope to see a good showing from the Berks crews. Stay safe.
